What is Vedic Meditation?
Vedic Meditation is an easily learnt mental technique practiced for 20 minutes twice a day, that enables the mind and body to fall into a profoundly deep state of rest in a very short period of time.
Deep rest is the only antidote for stress and fatigue. Without it, the body accumulates stress and fatigue like sediment in the body, ultimately undermining every aspect of our life experience, causing us to merely cope with life rather than flourish.
The technique works with the natural tendency of the mind, which is to think. We use a mantra, which is a sound that has a charming effect on the mind.
When we effortlessly think the mantra, it causes the mind to naturally fall into deeper quieter states of awareness, until thought is transcended all together.
No effort, concentration or controlling of the mind is required. The mind left to bathe in an expansive state of restful alertness known as ‘being’ which is simply defined as ‘You, minus your thoughts’.
